Industrial companies face a multitude of simultaneous requirements in order to make their global locations future-proof. As a general planner of industrial construction projects, it is essential to constantly work on innovative and integrative solutions to meet these demands. North of the existing office building of 3M Precision Grinding GmbH, our task was to plan the new production hall with infrastructure building, office and laboratory spaces, cafeteria, and social/changing rooms on an area of approximately 48m x 95m. The project was divided into the Infrastructure Building and New Manufacturing Building sections, and the keywords of digitalization and Industry 4.0 were integral parts of the comprehensive planning process in terms of integrated solutions.

Our services within the project included general and structural planning, on-site construction supervision, and construction coordination. The necessary legal requirements for implementation were consolidated and redefined in a separate procedure through the creation of a partial development plan for the entire site. Particularly, the new height development, which had to align with the requirements set by the corporate management and the resulting building volumes, had to be taken into account throughout the planning and execution phases.
