In the new Smart City district in Graz, a research center was built as a landmark. The building was supplied with self-generated electricity through a photovoltaic facade and utilized geothermal energy for heating and cooling. Lorenz Consult was responsible for the structural design, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing (HVAC), as well as construction site coordination. The research center stood out not only architecturally but also operated in an energy-efficient and sustainable manner. It serves as a symbol of the forward-thinking development of the district and emphasizes the commitment to innovative technologies and environmentally conscious construction.
